Written by: Princess of Slippers

Shabab House for Media and Development, in collaboration with the Climate School and Recovery Platform, organized a session on covering climate change in the context of COP 28. The session was attended by a number of young people interested in environmental and climate issues, where the details of the conference, its objectives, and the desired results were discussed, as well as aspects related to how to prepare for press coverage of the conference.

Egyptian journalist Rahma Diaa, founder of the Climate School, spoke about the history of the Conference of the Parties and its importance in promoting global action to combat climate change. She provided an overview of this year's conference agenda and related issues, noting the importance of countries cooperating and exchanging knowledge and experiences in this context. It also touched on the aspects of coverage and resources that journalists need during their work to publish press reports before, during and after the conference.

This session comes within the framework of establishing partnerships that enhance efforts to educate and empower Yemeni youth on climate change issues. Those in charge of the initiative hope that this session will contribute to enhancing awareness and active participation of young people in efforts to combat climate change
