The Climate School launches a new guide for journalists entitled \u201cAmplifying the Voices of Women Farmers\u201d; With the aim of shedding light on the best journalistic practices for writing about climate change adaptation issues in the field of agriculture, and focusing in particular on amplifying the voices of female farmers, as they constitute the most fragile link, and the need for coverage not to be limited to highlighting their fragility, suffering, and exposure to inequality, but also to reveal the positive impact. Which can be achieved if equality is achieved and women working in agriculture are empowered and trained on ways to adapt to the effects of climate change and involved in agricultural policy-making.<\/p>\n

The guide includes a set of supporting statistics and reports, a dictionary of the most prominent terms related to adaptation in the agricultural sector, the most prominent topics and angles suitable for journalistic coverage, in addition to storytelling tips, a set of visual representation tools, important sources, indicative journalistic templates, and professional opportunity websites.<\/p>\n

The guide was prepared by Rahma Zia, an independent journalist and media trainer specializing in climate change and founder of the Climate School Initiative. She is also one of the graduates of the program \u201cPreparing Young Women Leaders in Adaptation\u201d in 2021 and 2022, which was organized by the Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizenship. This guide was produced as part of the program Designed for graduates.<\/p>\n
