The Egyptian Digital Union Media Club, in cooperation with the Climate School Initiative, held a lengthy training program last July, which lasted for 4 weeks at a weekly session.<\/p>\n

The program targeted journalists, media professionals, and final-year students at media colleges from various Arab countries.<\/p>\n

The training was provided by journalist and trainer Rahma Zia, founder of Al Manakh School.
\nThe sessions included several topics, most notably:<\/p>\n

_ Introduction to environmental and climate journalism<\/p>\n

_ Simplifying and understanding scientific terms related to the environment and climate<\/p>\n

_ Ways to find and develop ideas<\/p>\n

-Writing stories about gender and climate change<\/p>\n

_ The most prominent open sources in the field of environment and how to extract data from them<\/p>\n

_Reading scientific studies and communicating with researchers<\/p>\n

_Humanizing environmental stories and storytelling of environmental topics<\/p>\n

-Methods of verifying and combating misleading news<\/p>\n

_Training in preparing infographics via the Canva platform<\/p>\n

_Learn about the most prominent newsletters, podcasts, and specialized websites<\/p>\n

_How to present story proposals to editors and apply for grants<\/p>\n

_Opportunity websites and networks of environmental journalists<\/p>\n

_Training activities and tasks for each session<\/p>\n

_Sessions to develop participants\u2019 ideas and editorial supervision of implementation<\/p>\n
