A training workshop for producing stories about women and climate, with a grant from the Guidance Centre

The “Climate School” is organizing an intensive training over the course of two days, March 20 and 21, 2024, entitled “The Roles that Women Play in Confronting Climate Change,” with a grant from the Mentoring Center for Emerging Media Initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa program, affiliated with the International Journalists’ Network.

The training was provided by trainers Rahma Diaa and Hadir Al-Hadary. It includes four training sessions distributed over two days to learn about the causes of women’s vulnerability to climate change and the positive impact that their participation in climate action can have, in addition to training on extracting and developing ideas, the method of human narration, and attractive visual presentation.

Applications are open to male and female journalists in the Middle East and North Africa region. At the end of the training, participants receive a certificate of participation on the condition of attending the entire two days of training. The Guidance Center Program Grant for Emerging Media Initiatives also includes providing two grants to produce a climate story on the subject of the training, for the two best proposals sent by Participants in the training, and participants receive the grant after publishing the stories.
