“Al-Manakh School” joins the tenth session of the “Guidance Center” program

The “Climate School” initiative was selected among the initiatives applied to join the tenth session of the Guidance Center’s program for emerging media initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa, which aims to help owners of emerging media projects in the region develop their digital and professional skills to enhance their projects.

Participants in this ten-month program are scheduled to receive guidance on media development and sustainability strategies, how to strive for innovation in their newsrooms, and receive guidance on finding new sources of revenue. Participants in this course will participate in a training camp in Amman, Jordan, in December. 2023 with the aim of acquiring these skills, while the program ends in April 2024.

Award-winning Egyptian journalist Rahma Diaa launched the “Climate School” in July 2021, which provides training on climate journalism for Arabic-speaking journalists through visual, audio and written sources.

Diaa won the Heikal Award for Arab Journalism in 2019, the International Promising Journalist Award from “Covering Climate Now” in 2021, the Suzanne Zaki Environment Award in 2022, an award from the French Agency for Media Development in 2022, and the Cairo Climate Change Forum Award from the German Embassy in Cairo in 2020. 2023.

During her participation in the Guidance Center program, Rahma looks forward to gaining experience in writing financing proposals and developing a detailed sustainability plan to ensure financial independence, and learning how to prepare and manage budgets. She also wants to identify her target audience and how to interact with them better.
