Written by: Princess of Slippers

For the third time in a row, the Climate School cooperates with the “Environmentally Friendly Africa” Foundation, in organizing an intensive training course on “Environmental Journalism” in the English language, directed to male and female journalists on the African continent. 30 male and female applicants were selected to participate in the third edition of the course, which was held in January 2024. Participants were selected from among 1,011 applicants representing 35 different countries.

Trainer Rahma Zia, founder of the Climate School, participated in framing the training courses and providing sessions on environmental journalism for the participants.

These training courses aim to enhance journalistic skills in the field of environmental rights and climate change, and to shed light on environmental issues and challenges facing Africa and the Arab region. It also aims to provide a platform for cooperation and exchange between male and female journalists from different countries to enhance communication and cooperation in covering events and reports related to the environment.

This initiative is an important step towards enhancing environmental and media awareness in the region, and enhancing the role of male and female journalists in conveying stories and information related to the environment and climate change to the Arab and African public.
