For the first time...an innovative training on climate journalism based entirely on games

For the first time, the Climate School is organising a training session on climate journalism based entirely on the idea of “gamification” or educational games.

The use of “gamification” in learning is a trend that has gained global popularity in recent years. With the aim of making the learning process useful and enjoyable at the same time, it is being applied for the first time in the field of climate journalism at the local and regional levels.

The gaming session was designed by the founder of the Egyptian Journalism Initiative, Rahma Diaa, an independent journalist who has won many local and international awards.

The session includes several games and competitions to motivate participants, both male and female. Each game is designed to achieve a specific educational goal, such as defining the most important climate terms, exploring open sources for environmental and climate journalism, identifying the characteristics of a number of useful tools and websites for journalists, and training in environmental storytelling techniques as well as climate solutions journalism.

The training will be held on April 5th at 2 pm Cairo time and you can register to participate through this link the form.
